1. Side seam pressure

Side seams are the most commonly reported pressure point and the least commonly specified. Three things control it:

  • Stitch or bond thickness — a raised join is felt disproportionately to its size
  • Seam profile — whether the join sits flat against the body or forms a ridge
  • Elastic tension at the seam — tension frequently concentrates at the join rather than distributing evenly

2. Leg opening pressure
